Ted Kerrn

I'm 53 years old and have been playing bagpipes for ten years as a band piper and also as a soloist. I have a teaching background as a part-time university professor,

and have a doctorate in History. I've been fortunate enough to have been instructed in seminar and formal lessons by some other excellent pipers such as

Tom Ogilvy, Bruce Gandy, Ringo Bowen, Alasdair Gillies, Doug McRae, Ken Eller, and Stuart Liddell. I've been a piper with the following bands:

Illinois State Police Pipes and Drums, Springfield, Illinois

Celtic Cross Pipes and Drums, Peoria, Illinois

Prairie Thistle Pipes and Drums, Bloomington, Illinois

I founded Prairie Thistle Pipes and Drums in Bloomington and am the Pipe Major of that band. I am also the Pipe Major of Celtic Cross Pipes and Drums in Peoria.

I have a good deal of experience playing bagpipes at a wide variety of events. Bagpiping is my hobby, and I love it.
